PUMA brought the buzz to the capital last night as they hijacked an abandoned Hydraulic Power Station on the banks of the River Thames to launch their new 'Power Up' collection. An A-list squad of world class footballers and London's finest from the grime scene came together in this underground playground of pulsating power.
With the space transformed into a turfed territory of football challenges curated to test the power and precision of PUMA's new Future 19.1 and ONE 19.1 boots, this was an exhibition of electric football. A guest list straight from the top draw, PUMA showcased their strength in depth as Romelu Lukaku, Sergio Aguero, Hector Bellerin, Vincent Kompany, Olivier Giroud and Aleksandar Kolarov joined new signings Eric Bailly and Steven N'Zonzi for a collective trophy cabinet of serious strength.
DJ sets and strobe lights bounced around the intimate venue as PUMA's leading players swept around the brand's assembled assault course of control. Sergio Aguero nailing the one touch challenge by stopping the ball dead on a dot no bigger than a penny, and Oliver Giroud smashing the living stanchions out of the power test. It's reassuring to know that it matters not whether you're a 32-year-old World Cup winner or a 12-year-old school kid; hammering a football as hard as you can on a pitch the size of your average garden patio delivers the same joyous look of thrill and thunderous release of frustration. Once the players had finished having a bash at the challenges the doors opened to the public to mix with their idols and test the next-generation ONE and Future boots for themselves, in attempt to top the leaderboard and beat the professionals. With the balls left spinning in the nets, PUMA welcomed out AJ + Deno, D’ONE, and Henrie to leave the building shaking and London powered up with hydraulic hype.
