In all the madness of Manchester United's dramatic comeback victory in Paris this week, a little story has emerged about midfielder Mason Greenwood's debut shirt. United arrived at PSG's Parc des Princes stadium without a name and numbered jersey for the youngster, resulting in a makeshift solution.
After realising upon arrived that Greenwood has no shirt, the United kit team rushed down to the PSG club store to print one up for their man; the only problem being that PSG only stock PSG font and club branded numbers – quite understandably. Greenwood, up until Wednesday night had never made an appearance for the first team, so the chances of him needing a shirt for United's biggest game of the season seemed slim, but Ole had other ideas.
The 17-year-old was handed his debut by Solsjkaer as United bagged a last minute penalty to reach the Champions League Quarter Finals on away goals, and on closer inspection his makeshift shirt was visible. Not only did Greenwood's shirt feature a different typeface to United's, the numbers also featured the PSG club crest, coloured in of course as part of the secret. Only towards the end of the week, when fans were looking back through the photos of the celebrations, has this become apparent.
There's no doubt that Greenwood will get his debut shirt framed and put up in his house, especially considering the importance of the game, and he's always going to have to explain why it has two PSG logos on the numbers though...
