Wow, what a week of football! But in between the world class strikes from unexpected sources and unbelievable European comebacks x 2, there may have been a few things you didn’t notice. From the most important number to how to really celebrate league success, here’s 10 things you might have missed this week.
A Word Of Advice – Vincent Kompany has officially opened the floodgates to masses of lumbering centre backs marauding forward and fancying their chances. Thanks Vinny.
Partridge's Kompany – Starting a petition to get Alan Partridge back on commentary.
Lucky Number 27 – What a bizarre coincidence that both Liverpool's and Spurs' heroes were wearing the number 27! Either that or, y'know, two add seven makes nine, and both of these boys wish they wore that number...
Kaned – Harry Kane forgot all about his ankle injury following Spurs' success. Interesting...
Champions League? – While Spurs and Liverpool fans run around in a delirium after their teams' extraordinary efforts, lets reflect on the fact that neither team has actually won their domestic league this century. As a bonus, they've both lost to Wolves this season, and that can be said for the Europa League finalists too!
Best Of Enemies – Capturing the feeling of all United and Arsenal fans...
Life's Cruel. Zavvi's Crueller – Appear's a marketing error led to everyone on Zavvi's email database being told that they'd won VIP tickets to the Champions League final. Any one check to see if the employee responsible had any ties to Manchester at all?
Mile-High Club – Zenit St Petersburg were on a flight when they found out that other results meant that they had won the league. Doesn't quite match up to banging in a 96th minute winner, does it?
Pyrophobia – Once they got back to ground, Zenit players and fans celebrated in style. Seems like Branislav Ivanovic wasn't too keen on all the fire, though. Somebody help the poor chap, would you?
Invincible – Greek side PAOK celebrated winning the league and going the whole season unbeaten by turning their stadium into an inferno of glory. Fortunately Ivanovic was not invited.
And that's it for this week. What more you got for us, football?
