Following a fantastic Premier League campaign in the 2018/19 season, Wolverhampton Wanderers have revealed the early concepts for the recently announced expansion of their famous home, Molineux Stadium.

Announced back in February of this year, the planned redevelopment of Molineux will see the capacity increased in stages to potentially around the 50,000 mark. And at the the club’s end of season awards evening, the first glimpse was given at what the revamped stadium will look like, with an artists impression showing off a huge single-tier South Bank, as well as revamped Steve Bull and Billy Wright stands.

This news was also joined by the announcement that Wolves will be installing 'safe standing' rail seats at Molineux this summer in the South Bank, known as the Sir Jack Hayward stand.

Unlike how Tottenham moved away during the reconstruction of their new stadium however, Wolves would have to remain in Molineux during the development work, meaning it will have to be completed over a prolonged period.

The stadium plans form part of the grander scheme behind the club, driven on by Chinese owner group, Fosun. As part of this, the club will also be opening its first ever megastore in China this summer. Fosun are keen for Wolves to make inroads in their homeland and a huge part of the club’s marketing strategy over the last 12 months has been centred around growth in China.

Wolves will also head out to China this summer to take part in the Premier League Asia Trophy for the first time where they will face Newcastle in the semi-finals on July 17.
