10 Things You Might Have Missed This Week – 06/09/19

Feels like the season has only just started and yet we’re already stuck in the middle of an international break. Better that than being stuck in the middle of Salah and Mane though, as Bobby Firmino knows only too well. That and a bunch of other weird things make up 10 things that you may have missed from the world of football this week, and we start with a very enlightening comparison…

Warnock > Guardiola – Say what you will about Neil Warnock, but when all's said and done he's actually just a wiser clone of Pep Guardiola.

Tim Nice But Dim – Finding a club better than Tottenham to win trophies... Well, they did just lift the Audi Cup after all...

Roy's Keen, Taylor Not So Much – You haven't felt fear until you're sat waiting for the car park barrier to lift while Roy Keane is menacingly approaching in your interior mirror.

Awkward – As in the Liverpool lineup, Firmino once again finds himself caught between Salah and Mane, only this time it was after the pair fell out after Mo failed to pass to Sadio. Face says it all.

He'll Grow Into It – Brooklyn still trying to find that style to match his old man.

Body On The Line – FC Rostov's Evgeny Chernov with some remarkable last-ditch, goal-line defending in their win at Lokomotiv Moscow. Hats off.

Bored Games – All fun and games, innit? Unless it's not, of course.

Can't Lose What You Never Had – Lord Bendtner showing all the composure of a rugby player in a year 10 football PE lesson.

The Pep EffectRochdale have scored three league goals directly following passages of play with at least 10 passes this season – in England's top four tiers, only Manchester City (5) have done so more often. Can't argue with stats.

Top Heavy – Who's ending up at left back then?

Who Are Ya – You can see the confusion on the Swiss players face when President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins came out to meet them.

Dutch Delight – The Holland women showing that their pedigree is equal to the legacy of the men's team.

And that's your lot. Do more stupid stuff so we can fill this up again next week, yeah?
