10 Things You Might Have Missed This Week – 13/12/19

Take a break from all the stressful Christmas preparations and check out 10 things that you might have missed from the world of football this week, including an example of the quality on display in the Europa League, Iwobi’s response to being skinned, and how Atlanta celebrated making it to the last 16 of the Champions League. Ready? Let's go...

Red Rescinded – Chris Basham became the first person in Premier League history to have his red card rescinded by VAR. The Blades' social team were only too quick to have some fun with that fact.

Talk The Talk – Jeremie Frimpong's only played six professional games of football and he won a trophy in the game he got sent off in. Allowed to be a bit enthusiastic, and we welcome it.

CR-azy – Wasn't so long ago that Ronaldo rescued a pitch invader from the stewards, taking a selfie with him. How times change.

Not Playing Anymore – A double dose of Ronaldo this week, as the Juve man decided he'd had enough of football after a poor touch in training. At least he's smiling about it. We think.

Ebery Cloud – Having been sacked by Arsenal, Unai Emery is on the list to take the helm at Everton. Could make for some interesting press conferences...

Fan-Atalant-ical – Atalanta fans celebrating the fact that theirs will be the only Champions League football in Milan for the next round. Celebrate away.

Not Called Junior For Nothing – Despite playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world, it's nice to see that he still respects the pecking order. Wonder if his room is tidy.

Celebrate Good Times – Ross Matthews learning the hard way that if you don't want something to come back and haunt you, don't do it in the first place. Gave plenty of people a good chuckle though, so could certainly have been worse.

Europa Joke – Standard Liege winger Mpoku showed off the high quality of the Europa League in his side's clash with Arsenal this week.

The Arsenal Way – Arsenal are absolutely flying at the moment. Arsenal Women, that is. Perhaps Ljungberg has been coaching the wrong team, because that's a leaf out of the Invincibles' book.

Utterly Audacious – Another angle of one of the most inventive finishes you will ever see, executed to perfection by Luis Suarez. Could watch this all day.

Mac Meets Lamp – Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey took time to visit Chelsea and watch a match. He looked thrilled to meet Lampard.

Dab When You're Done – Iwobi, roasted like a kipper by Kante, just does what comes naturally. That's what £28m gets you these days...

Souness Says It Best – The Sky pundit saying what needs to be said. An unlikely source, but perfectly voiced.

Few extra chucked in 'coz it's almost Christmas 'n all...
