BPC & Participation Trophy Studio Launch 'The Blackout Collection'

Celebrating Black History Month, Black Players for Change have joined forces with Participation Trophy Studio to release ‘The Blackout Collection’: an exclusive drop of eight limited edition customised jerseys that’s been inspired by the players' collective and individual experiences during 2020.

Black Players for Change (BPC) is an independent organisation consisting of over 170+ Black players, coaches and staff of MLS, who are committed to tackling the racial injustices that have limited Black people from having an equitable stake in the game of soccer and society. Now, after what has been a difficult year for so many reasons, they are partnering with Participation Trophy Studio for their first venture into limited edition apparel. This is ‘The Blackout Collection’.

The Blackout Collection is an exclusive drop of eight limited edition hand dyed customised jerseys that was inspired by the players' collective and individual experiences during 2020; the culmination of their experiences in and outside of the league and is a way of showing they are here, they've always been here and now you can see.

The collection has been championed by eight players from across MLS and USL. They are Mark Anthony Kaye (Los Angeles Football Club), Justin Morrow (Toronto FC), Jeremy Ebobisse (Portland Timbers FC), Miles Robinson (Atlanta United), Earl Edwards Jr (New England Revolution), Sean Johnson (NYCFC), Sebastien Ibeagha (NYCFC), Quincy Amarikwa (Las Vegas Lights FC), and it is their 2020 club shirts that have been used for the campaign. As change must be unified at all levels, the BPC branded hashtag #TogetherThereWillBeChange appears in gold on the back of each shirt as a physical reminder to everyone that we are all equally needed in this fight for equality.

Each of these kits will be available to fans and supporters through a raffle, and all proceeds will go to FC Harlem, a youth development organisation in Harlem, NYC making a positive impact on the lives of young people through soccer since 1990.

Raffle tickets are available for $1/each through blackplayersforchange.org with 100% of the money raised donated to FC Harlem.
