Harvey Elliott Officially Signs With New Balance

Having been seen playing in the brand’s boots for over six months now, Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott has finally officially been announced as a New Balance player, joining what is an impressively increasing roster.

Harvey Elliott’s deal with Nike ended last year, and the youngster had been trialling different boots, looking for a new brand. That was until September time, when he was first seen wearing New Balance boots in Liverpool’s 7-2 preseason win over Blackpool – a game in which he scored. He obviously felt comfortable in them, because he seemingly hasn’t looked back, wearing them for the vast majority of his time on loan with Blackburn. Despite the length of time in New Balance boots though, nothing had been officially announced regarding his future. That was until now.

At still only 18 years old, the extraordinary talent has already broken several records since his arrival in top-flight football. He was Fulham FC’s youngest ever player, after making his senior debut aged just 15, and later that season, history was rewritten when he became the Premier League’s youngest debutant at just 16 years and 30 days. The England youth international is also the youngest ever player to start a match for Liverpool FC. It’s another big name for the future for New Balance, following the capture of Bukayo Saka recently.

Signing with New Balance is a massive step in my career," explained Elliott. "I’m pleased with my performances this season, but I’m also focused on working hard and taking my game to the next level. It feels good to be working with a global brand that wants to help me get there.

Elliott will continue to wear the Furon v6+, having been wearing his own unreleased red and black colourway since November. It’s been an interesting approach from New Balance, with unsigned players usually playing in blackout boots, but the American brand seem to be trying a new approach of impressing players. Elliott’s red boots have been spotted along with Raheem Sterling's white and gold boots, with indications suggesting that he may well be the next player to join the brand.
