Leeds United Get Player Emojis On WhatsApp In Global First

In what is a global digital first, Leeds United have announced a partnership with FanStickerz that will see their players represented as emoji-like characters for their supporters to use on messaging platforms WhatsApp and iMessage.

Leeds United recently became the first Premier League club to enter into a strategic partnership with the world’s leading entertainment company, Roc Nation, with a view to supporting the expansion of the Leeds United brand in key markets of the USA and China. Now, their latest partnership might not quite be on that level, but it does represent another first, with the club being the first in the world to have their players represented as emoji-like characters.

Leeds fans (and anyone else for that matter, if it takes your fancy) can download the FanStickerz app to subscribe to the Leeds Utd team packs Subscribers receive a monthly pack of 16 digital stickers exportable directly to WhatsApp or iMessage with members of the squad expressing fan favourite emotes and kits: a “Thumbs Up” from Raphinha, Kalvin Crying Laughing, Meslier “On Fire”, Pablo’s Mic Drop and even Luke’s Rock & Roll goals celebration will all be available over the coming months.

Leeds United Global Head of Digital & Content Aaron Duckmanton said: “FanStickerz is an exciting platform to engage our fans around the world, and we’re thrilled to be the launch partner. It’s important for us to continue to develop and innovate our offering and digital stickers represent a great way for our fans to show their fandom across popular messaging platforms.”

Chris Howarth, Founder of FanStickerz said: “We are excited to partner with Leeds United in putting them at the forefront of revolutionising how we message our friends and family. Digital messaging platforms are a global phenomenon but the world is moving on from the standard smiley face and generic thumbs up emotes - Leeds United fans can now show their support for the Club every time they message.

Fans can now download the FanStickerz app from App Store and Google Play, and then subscribe to the Leeds Utd team packs.
