Building on its successful European football operations, Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI) has made its first steps into the North American market, expanding its footprint into MLS with the announcement that exciting youngster Jack McGlynn has joined its roster.
Since bagging the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku early on, Roc Nation Sports has steadily been building an impressive roster to rival some of the best in the game, adding players such as Marcus Rashford, Reece James and Tyrone Mings over the last few years. Now, the Jay-Z-affiliated agency makes its first moves in the world of soccer in its homeland, announcing the signing of Philadelphia Union and United States U20 National Team midfielder, Jack McGlynn.
McGlynn has caught the eye over as he's broken into The Union's first team, particularly during the 2021 regular season, which was capped off when he scored the winning penalty kick over Nashville SC in the MLS playoffs. “It’s a great honor to be the first MLS soccer player to sign with Roc Nation Sports International,” he said. “The agency has seen great success over the pond, and I trust them to help me navigate the rest of my career, both on and off the pitch.”
Given that Roc Nation Sports is an American company, it already boasts a host of headline names on their clientele list from American football, basketball and baseball, but McGlynn represents the first from Major League Soccer. The announcement follows the appointment of former USA International and Major League Soccer legend Chris Wingert as Head of International Football in North America – a move that signals the agency’s intent to expand into that market. “We are extremely excited to have Jack on board at Roc Nation Sports International. He is one of the top young players in America and we are looking forward to helping him reach his highest potential, both on the field and off,” said Wingert.
