Haaland Wears Nike AF-1 x Tiffany & Co. ‘1837’ ‘Friends & Family’ Edition

Will he, won’t he? Erling Haaland has given another indication that, if he ever does sign a boot contract again, then it will be with Nike after he posted images of himself on his Insta channel wearing the Nike AF-1 x Tiffany & Co. ‘1837’ ‘Friends & Family’ edition and a special edition varsity jacket. Got to have some internal connections to get your hands on that type of drip…

It’s no secret that Erling Haaland has been playing the field for the last 12 months-plus when it comes to his boots. Out of contract since January 2022, when his Nike deal expired, he has since been flirting with the likes of adidas and PUMA, while still returning home each night to House Swoosh, more often than not playing in the American brand’s boots, particularly of late. But now he looks to have given a strong indication that his relationship with Nike has certainly not soured –  quite the contrary, in fact, and it’s actually showing signs of blossoming after he showed off some extremely exclusive items in a recent Insta post, leading to further suggestions that he MIGHT be set to sign with the Swoosh (but we’ve been burned in this saga before, so we’re not counting our chickens just yet…)

The upcoming Nike Air Force 1 x Tiffany & Co. ‘1837’ is already one of the most anticipated sneakers of the year. It comes fully decked out in the jewellery company’s signature “Tiffany Blue” shade in what is essentially an inverse version of the black-based pair that will be hitting stores – that’s right, the edition donned by Haaland is a ‘Friends & Family’ exclusive edition that won’t be available for retail. As we alluded to earlier, you don’t get these for nothing, and that suggests that Haaland is in Nike’s good books, lending weight to recent reports that the Norwegian is set to sign a £20m-a-year deal with the brand. Whether that comes to pass or not, it’s a power move from both player and brand.

The sneakers were also accompanied by a black letterman jacket that was most notably seen on Lebron James on the back of the original announcement of the Tiffany x Nike collaboration. Made by Settlemier's, it carries Tiffany and Co. and Nike logos embroidered across the back, along with various patches on the chest and just the right amount of "Tiffany Blue" accents throughout. Word is that while the jacket clearly isn’t a one-off, it is extremely limited. It won't be released as part of the upcoming Tiffany and Co. x Nike collection, but rather gifted to VIP clients of both brands. Last we checked, Haaland didn't necessarily have a well-reported relationship with Tiffany and Co.

Haaland has never hidden his love of Nike sneakers, having been spotted in the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Reverse Mocha” following his switch to City back in July, as well as bulking out his collection with a bit of Sneaker Shopping with Complex in that same month. While he has been spotted wearing both adidas and PUMA boots in his relatively short time at City, he spends most of his time in Nike, and while that has previously been older models, he has recently been playing in the current ‘Lucent Pack’ Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor XV (albeit that’s a slightly older colourway) and the ‘Blast Pack’ Phantom GX.

The inverted made-for-the-public version of the the AF-1 x Tiffany & Co. ‘1837’ hits the Nike SNKRS app today.
