The Best Football x Fashion Collaborations of 2023

The expansion of the Football x Fashion space shows no signs of slowing down, and as we head towards the end of 2023, we look back on some of the best collaborations from the year.

Turn the clock back a few years and the concept of a major fashion house such as Prada even casting a glance at the world of football would have been unheard of, and yet now we live in a world where not only are they looking, they’ve actually collaborated with adidas to produce football boots. Luxuriously mad. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the collaborations that we’ve enjoyed this year.

The football x fashion floodgates were first opened by PSG, and the list wouldn’t be complete without the style trendsetters taking their place. Sure enough, they lineup alongside the likes of Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter (Milan and Miami) and others as we pick out what we think have been the best Football x Fashion collaborations of 2023.

Juventus x 032C

Berlin-based magazine and fashion brand 032c linked up with Juventus for a limited edition collection that featured two reworked versions of the Serie A side’s 23/24 home shirt, alongside some accompanying accessories.

Umbro x Slam Jam

Umbro are right up there as champions of the collaboration game, and the Double Diamond's Italian faction teamed up with streetwear label Slam Jam for a football inspired collection that drew on terrace culture, focusing on moments of unity between the team and the fans.

PSG x Esteban Cortazar

Couldn't have a lst like this without an appearance from PSG. Continuing to keep its collaboration game strong, the Ligue 1 side invited designer Esteban Cortazar to create a summer capsule collection celebrating the fashion designer’s roots and the Latin influence of the club in football culture.

Inter Milan x Moncler by Arsham

Now in its third season, the Inter x Moncler official formalwear partnership introduced in a new creative element in the form of New York artist Daniel Arsham via an extremely limited run of light down jackets.

Inter Miami x BAPE

Following an improved output on the pitch thanks to Messi's arrival, Inter Miami looked to further boost their already rapidly expanding appeal by unveiling a new limited capsule collection with Japanese streetwear label, BAPE®, that included pullover hoodies, t-shirts, sweat shorts and caps.

Barcelona x Patta

Barcelona and Dutch brand Patta released a small capsule that tapped into the very DNA of the club and the Dutch influence that runs throughout it. The six-item capsule featured graphic track jackets and bottoms with illustrative hearts and veins representing ‘Barca-blood’, alongside tees, hoodies and caps. A Nike Air Max Plus completed the line-up with gradient blue and red uppers.

adidas x Maharishi x Arsenal

adidas continued to tap into their fashion connections, and the beneficiaries were once again Arsenal, who received a collection from elevated UK streetwear label, Maharishi.

adidas Originals x Wales Bonner

Following on from her work with the Jamaica national team, Wales Bonner was working again with adidas, this time on a football-infused collection that explored the Trefoil’s lasting presence within Jamaican culture.

adidas x Prada

Football x fashion collabs don't come much more premium than this: adidas and Prada combining their powers on some very limited boots.

AC Milan x Off-White

Back for a volume 2 update, this season’s follow up saw the new uniforms — formal and informal — designed for members of both the women’s and men’s AC Milan sides. Both collections once again scrambled traditional football and sport motifs, reimagining them with Off-White house codes and cultural and subcultural influences.

Quite the year for football x fashion. Bigger and better in 2024?
