RB Leipzig Announce Long-Term Partnership With PUMA

After a decade of partnership, RB Leipzig are set to part ways with Nike, with PUMA set to step in and take the reigns as of July in what is a long-term partnership with the Bundesliga side.

Since the club came into being in 2009, RB Leipzig have only had two kit suppliers: adidas, who provided the side with kits from their inception until 2014, and then Nike. Now, the Bundesliga side are going to complete the trinity after they announced that, as of July this year, they will partner with PUMA in what has been referred to as a long-term partnership. As “Exclusive partner”, PUMA will kit out all the club’s teams from the men’s, women’s, youth and eSports departments, as well as the football school starting from the 24/25 season.

Johann Plenge, Managing Director at RB Leipzig said: “We are glad that we have secured a long-term partnership with such a well-known company. For RB Leipzig, the partnership with PUMA is another big and important step in the development of the club.

“Not only will we benefit from PUMA’s first-class knowledge and equip our teams for the biggest possible success, but we will also work on different projects together and push innovation in football. PUMA is young, dynamic and fast, which matches perfectly with our values as a club and our RB-Leipzig DNA.

Leipzig’s move follows that of Red Bull’s Austrian club, Salzburg, who have already announced their switch to PUMA, with rumours that Bragantino will also follow suit, switching from New Balance to PUMA. Red Bull Bragantino will likely wear PUMA kits from January 2025.

Arne Freundt, CEO at PUMA said: “The Red Bulls of RB Leipzig have made a name for themselves in a very short time, not just in Germany but also internationally. We are looking forward to many fantastic football moments and are excited to join the club on this successful journey in the coming years.
