Launching off the back of The Women’s FA Cup Curator profile launching on their platform and in honour of Women’s History Month, Apple Music have held an event to celebrate the links between women’s football and music.
Last week, Apple Music launched the The Women’s FA Cup Curator profile ahead of the Women’s FA Cup Quarter-Finals, featuring playlists from Arsenal player Victoria Pelova, and Manchester City’s Khiara Keating and Esme Morgan. Now, off the back of that and in honour of Women’s History Month, the brand have held a special event celebrating the links between women's football and music ahead of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup semi-finals.
Hosted by Apple Music’s Rebecca Judd, singer-songwriter, Arsenal fan and ‘Hope FC’ contributor Marika Hackman sat down with Baesianz FC founder Nicole Chui to talk about the links between women’s football and music, discussing the beautiful ways in which these two worlds interact, and the roles they play in fostering self-expression and solidarity, all with the FA Cup trophy playing a supporting role.
Representation for the women’s game continues to move from strength to strength, and the talk spanned their love for playing football, supporting Arsenal and Tottenham, their love for the women’s game and the happiness it fills them with regarding how much it's grown over the years. Marika also discussed being a part of the creation of ‘Call Me a Lioness’ with Olivia Dean, Rachel Chinouriri and Mel C, something she’d love to do again when the time's right.
