10 Things We’re Looking Forward To In 2025

A new year brings with it a host of reasons to get excited, and here we’ve picked out 10 things that we’re already looking forward to, from new kit partnerships to huge tournaments.

Portugal x PUMA

Confirming what pretty much everyone knew already, back at the end of November PUMA officially announced that they signed a long-term agreement with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). That new partnership will commence when Nike's deal finishes at the end of the year, and we'd wager that the new kits will be incoming pretty soon thereafter.

Jordan Wings x Paris Saint-Germain

Jordan Brand and PSG are set to return in early 2025 with a new collaboration. This time around, they're working with the Jordan Wings youth design program. Jordan Wings programmes offer access to opportunities that can level the playing field to young people all over the world, so this move should bring an exciting refresh to the collab for 2025 (not to mention some exciting kit and kicks to look forward to).

Ajax 125 Year anniversary

On 18 March, Ajax celebrates its 125th anniversary. They've already announced a switch back to their old crest as part of the celebrations, and we'd bet our bottom dollar that the Dutch club has much more up its sleeve.

CEO Menno Geelen explains the return of the classic logo: "Ajax will celebrate its 125th anniversary on March 18. The celebrations will include the announcement of the return of the classic logo. We know that the majority of our fans have cherished this wish for years, and we felt that our 125th anniversary was the perfect moment to give back the classic logo to our fans and ourselves." MLS 2025 Kit Drops

OK, so a couple of teams have already jumped the gun here, but generally speaking, all Major League Soccer teams will be expected to drop their new kits ahead of the 2025 campaign around February time, and it's quite the spectacle. Always one in our diary, with adidas pulling out the stops for 30 teams in one go.

Women’s UEFA Euro ’25

Euro '22 was a superb tournament, not least because it was on home turf and the Lionesses did the nation proud by going on to secure victory in an epic final against Germany. Now they're heading to Switzerland as defending champions, and we're fairly confident that with the continual growth of the women's game, Euro '25 will be bigger and better than ever. The tournament will be played 2 to 27 July 2025, with England joined by debutants, Wales, in their group. Expect a fiery affair.

But more than just the football, it's the surrounding culture of the tournament that we're excited about.

adidas x Liverpool

While this one still hasn't officially been announced, you can file it under 'worst kept secrets for 2025', as it's a definite. It will be the first time in 13 years that Liverpool have worn adidas kits, and the third time overall, following stints from 1985-96, and from 2006-2012. So we're already hyped to see what the Three Stripes do with the Reds' kits – expect plenty of nostalgia-laden designs.

Return of T90

The hype train has been steadily building steam ahead of the return of the T90 III in 2025. Earlier in 2024, confirmed via Nike’s SNKRS Showcase, we got an initial preview that saw the unveiling of three colourways (“Black/Metallic Silver”, “Dynamic Yellow/Green Spark”, “Bordeaux/Metallic Silver”). That understandably sparked a lot of interest around a highly-anticipated release, and that was further boosted when Edgar Davids was spotted wearing a “Navy Blue/Metallic Silver” pair of T90 III’s at Travis Scott’s ‘Secreto Maximus’ tournament. That was then followed up with the confirmation of a further set of colourways due later in 2025. Bring it on, we're ready!

FIFA Club World Cup

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is set to usher in a new era of premium club competition for teams across the globe. What is technically the 21st edition of the competition is now the inaugural edition of the new quadrennial format, bringing together the most successful club sides from each of the six international confederations: AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA – 32 teams battling it out Stateside from 15 June to 13 July in a proper World Cup format, just with your favourite clubs instead of countries. This is an event you won't want to miss, and we're already getting the popcorn ready. Actually, it'll probably be stale by then. We'll hold fire for six months.

Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025

Just over a year to go until the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) gets underway in Morocco. Yep, this time it starts on 21 December 2025 and runs until 18 January 2026. We've put it in this list because any international tournament deserves a certain level of hype, and Africa's vibrant cultural mix never disappoints. Logistical planning could've been better though...It will be the first time that the tournament is held over the Christmas and New Year period – something that could yet prove problematic.

The Next Chapter of Creative Soccer Culture

OK, so this one could be viewed as a bit of a broad one, but 2024 saw us announcing that we were refocusing SoccerBible’s contribution to football culture as we embarked on our mission to celebrate football’s relationship with what we call ‘Creative Soccer Culture’ and the communities that shape it. Creative Soccer Culture is an ever-evolving ecology and diverse range of creative passion points, from product design, fashion, and art, to photography, film, and music, and we can't wait to see how this continual evolution progresses, particularly with so many international tournaments in one year. Bring. It. On.
