Anthony Gordon and Steve Bracknall Open The First Ever Pro:Direct x adidas Boot Exchange

This week, adidas and Pro:direct joined forces to hold their first-ever boot exchange. Located in Newcastle, the event was opened by star winger Anthony Gordon alongside Steve Bracknall, with football fans all over the city showing up in full force to get their hands on a pair of brand-new Predators.

Since the comeback of the fold-over tongue on the Predator 24’s, adidas have had a crazy surge of hype. The Three Stripes brand gave fans serious nostalgia, bringing back a boot design that withholds so many iconic memories. The success of the model continues with the 25’s, with ballers like Jude Bellingham, Alessia Russo and Trent Alexander Arnold all becoming faces of the silo.

Piling onto the already substantial hype of the Pred’s, Pro:Direct Soccer partnered with adidas to launch their first ever boot exchange. Last time the two brands made similar moves, they launched an event at the Emirates selling Predator 24's for only £19.94 (celebrating 1994 – the founding year of Pred's). This time around, they don't want any money. Held in Newcastle, Pro:Direct set up shop at an undisclosed location in the city, until their social media pages later released the address only two hours before start time. ‘100% goals 0% commision’ was seen printed across the location hub– a nod to the classic Predator motto ‘100% legal 0% Fair’.

Provided on a first-come, first-served basis, football fans queued up with any pair of old boots, that they could then trade to walk away with the brand-new Predator 25 along with a bespoke Pro:Direct boot exchange receipt. Adding to the excitement, Newcastle star Anthony Gordon joined the unprecedented event, allowing fans to receive their gifted boots from one of their favourite players – a class act from the pacey winger. Some even chose to ask Gordon to sign their boots, arm, or whatever they had on them really. Gordon was also joined by Steve Bracknall, an icon who loves an old-school Pred, adding that extra personality to the day.

All-in-all, a successful day for football fans in Newcastle.
