Football Shirt News - Egypt Puma Home & Away Africa Cup of Nations

Egypt's 2010 African Cup of Nations football shirt draws inspiration from the nation's rich history. Puma have combined a striking design with technical innovations, that run throughout all of the new African Cup of Nations football shirts.

Egypt are the current holders of the African Cup of Nations following their 2008 victory, their sixth title. And to defend their crown Egypt will be wearing these brand new Puma home and away football shirts.

Both the Egypt home and away football shirts feature a breathable mesh shoulder, which Puma have incorporated into the design of all their African Cup of Nations shirts. To celebrate Egypt's history the mesh panel of the home shirt features an application with the mask of Tutankhamun's mummy, the popular icon for ancient Egypt.

Also current in all of the new African Cup of Nations designs is the traditional African cut on the back of the shirt. This is inspired by "Kinte" cloth, which is a type of silk fabric made of interwoven cloth strips native to Africa.
