Paris Saint-Germain PSG Home & Away 10/11 Nike Football Shirts
Paris Saint-Germain and Nike have launched the new PSG Home and Away shirts for the 10/11 Ligue 1 season. The Nike designs continue the club's traditional colours, and reinstates the iconic blue shirt with a central red vertical stripe trimmed with white for the 10/11 PSG home shirt.
For the 2010/11 season Nike have introduced lightning and jagged designs to a host of their club shirts, including Inter Milan, Werder Bremen and Juventus. Not escaping the sharp edge treatment, the Paris Saint Germain home shirt 10/11 features a jagged design for the vertical white stripes.
PSG fans probably won't mind this design feature though, and will just be glad for a return to the traditional colourway that was strayed from last season. Since 1973 PSG have worn a blue shirt with a red central vertical bar framed by white edgings, created by fashion designer Daniel Hechter who was commissioned to design an iconic shirt which would become a strong symbol of the club, after the Stade Saint-Germain club merged with Paris FC in 1970 to form Paris Saint-Germain.
To create both the PSG home and away football jerseys 10/11, Nike used cutting edge technology which means every shirt is made entirely from recycled polyester, crafted from up to eight plastic water bottles! Part of Nike s Considered Design programme, which sees discarded plastic bottles diverted from landfills to be used in the manufacturing process.
The new Paris St Germain home football shirt 10/11, and the PSG away football shirt 10/11, are engineered to cool the body 7% more than the previous incarnations. 13% percent lighter and able to stretch 10% more, the new Nike PSG shirt's are cut to fit better than ever before and utilise one of the most permeable DriFit fabrics.
The PSG Away football kit 10/11 features an all-red shirt with a roundneck collar, adorning the entire shirt is the print 'PSG 1970' which commemorates the club's founding year and celebrates Paris St Germain's 40th anniversary.
There are some big names in the Paris St Germain squad including Claude Makelele, Mateja Kezman, Ludovic Giuly, Jerome Rothen and Mathieu Bodmer, who will all be looking to improve on last season's disappointing 13th place finish.
The new PSG home and away Nike football shirts are available to order now, and are expected to cost around £45 GBP / €60 EUROS / $70 USD.
