Manchester City Home 10/11 Umbro Football Shirt

Manchester City Home 10/11 Umbro Football Shirt

Manchester City and Umbro have today unveiled the new home kit for the 2010/11 Premier League season. The new Man City Home shirt 10/11 is another tailored number from Umbro, who have looked to improve upon last seasons design with the help of the fans.

Taking inspiration from some of the classic Manchester City football kits of the past, the new Man City home kit 10/11 builds on the smartness and tailored principles of last season s kit but adds an increased performance element and crisper style.

Umbro has listened to fans feedback on the successful 2009 home shirt and considered their thoughts into the new design. A crew front collar has been added for comfort, and a pinstripe effect has returned to the front panel in reference to some of City s finest moments of the past when they wore a striped shirt.  In fact, the stripes are the same dimensions as those on the club s 1968/69 shirt, the year City reigned as English champions.

The sleeves on the shirt are made in a  raglan  style, with one piece of fabric continuing all the way to the neckline. Made from a stretch fabric, the sleeve assists articulation of the arms.  The white cuffs on the shirt take their inspiration from some of the 1970s City strips.

The home socks add to the overall classic style, with a maroon hoop another reference to City s heritage. According to the Umbro designers, there was a particular picture of Colin Bell wearing similar socks which inspired the design team!

The new Manchester City Home Football Shirt 2010/11 is available to pre-order now from the club shop ahead of a 6th August release date, and you should expect to pay around £45 GBP / $70 USD for your new City shirt. We'd love to hear the fans reactions to this new Manchester City kit, and what YOU think of it's unique design features...
