Here at SoccerBible we're sticking with the Brasilian theme with the new 2011 Corinthains Nike home and away shirts. With the new Brasilian Serie A season underway The Sao Paulo club have released images of their new shirts featuring Julio Cesar, Jucilei and Dentinho.

Check out these images of the O TimÃo players as they first got their hands on the new Nike home and away Corinthians shirts. After a strong start to the season, Corinthian fans and players will be hoping for their first Brasilian Serie A title since 2005...

After finishing in third place last season in the Brasilian Serie A, just three points behind champions Fluminense, Corinthians will be looking for another push for the title this season after having a strong start so far.

They club are famously known in Brasil as the "CampeÃo dos CampeÕes" - Champion of Champions. The name came about because they famously beat Germania (Paulista League Champions) and Palmeiras (Apea League Champions) after they broke from the Paulista League way back in 1915.

There is a lot of history behind the Corinthians crest. Since the introduction of the club crest in 1913, it has seen some design changes over its history. The current crest, which features an anchor and two oars (a reference to the aquatic sports practised in the club), is the definitive crest of Corinthians.

Corinthians have their share of big names currently at the club. The Brasilian team currently host world-wide known names such as football legends Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos.

Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano are both big names associated with the club. Corinthians paid £9.5m to Boca Juniors for the services of Carlos Tevez in 2004 where he went on to establish himself as one of the biggest rising stars of the game. The Argentinians were then both part of a double transfer to West Ham United in 2006.

For those not too familiar with the Brasilian League, Corinthians share the lead of the biggest number of fans in Brasil with Flamengo. Famous for their loyal passion and support, Corinthian fans had to endure tough times when the team were relegated to the second division of Brasilian football in 2007.

The club has been recognised for its famous black and white colours for most of its history. The first Corinthians kit originally consisted of cream shirts and black shorts but each time the shirts were washed they gradually became more white which ultimately lead to the club changing the official club colours!

As always, we'd love to hear your opinions on the new 2011 Corinthians jerseys and how you think they compare to replica shirts you'd usually see in the European leagues...
