FC Porto Home & Away Shirt 2011-2012 - Nike Football Kit
FC Porto and Nike have presented the new Porto Home and Away football kits for the 2011/12 season. Defending UEFA Europa League and Portuguese Primeira Liga champions, FC Porto will be embarking on a new campaign in the Champions League and will do so sporting the new FC Porto 11/12 Nike Shirts.
The new Nike FCP football kits were unveiled at the Hotel Yeatman in Vila Nova de Gaia recently, and modelled by star players Hulk, JoÃo Moutinho, Rolando, James and Helton. And after reaching the top of European football last season writing headlines en route, FC Porto are ready to kick-off the 11-12 season.
The new FC Porto home jersey 11/12 to be worn by the DragÕes 'Dragons', retains the classic colours of the club which are said to be inspired by the historical colours of Portugal: until the overthrow of the Monarchy in 1910, the Portuguese flag was blue and white. The stripes are wider than on the previous shirt, with the addition of a white V-neck collar.
Further details on the shirt include 'FC Porto' printed of the back of the collar, and on the inside A Vencer Desde 1893 which roughly translates as'Winning Since 1893', the year the club was founded. Also, printed on the reverse of the crest near to the fans and players hearts is the statement CoraÇÃo Com RazÃo which means'Heart with reason'.
Porto s new Nike away kit 2011/2012 is dark blue in colour, and contains two purple and blue overlapping zig-zag designs across the chest. As far as we're aware, there is no specific design inspiration for this pattern, but as with the yellow striped version worn during the 10/11 season, it's something that looks quite unique!
The new FC Porto home and away kits are made from one hundred percent polyester recycled by Nike. Each of these is obtained directly from the recycling of fourteen plastic bottles. The strip actively contributes to the regulation of the player's body temperature during matches thanks to the Nike Dri-FIT material. The shirt is more aerodynamic than previous ones due to its 17% increase in elasticity.
The new 11/12 FC Porto soccer shirts are available to order now and will be worn for some mouth-watering fixtures this season, including FC Porto s UEFA Super Cup clash with FC Barcelona on August 26th in Monaco.
