France Home Replica 2012-13 - Nike Football Shirt
The new Nike French home kit is a bold departure from the traditional blue, white and red we've come to expect from a French national shirt. And it might surprise you further, to find out it's been inspired by the uniforms of the French military academies...
The stand-out feature of the new FFF home jersey is the unique high collar, inspired by the cadet uniforms worn in the French military academies. A quite unique collar which sits proudly atop a rich shade of light blue and gold, and complimented by the iconic mariniere print in tonal shades of blue.
Nike have really gone to town when it comes to national identity for the new France home shirt. Along with the French rooster in elegant gold on the chest, the national identity continues on the inside of the leg, as a thin red tape represents the red ribbons worn by the French as part of the French revolution.
With the Euro's on the horizon, this will be Nike's first major tournament since they began their association with the FFF, and the new look is designed for a new era in French football, represented through such young stars as Yann M'Vila and Mamadou Sakho.
The new Nike 2012 France football kit is treated like performance wear and so incorporates Dri-FIT technology, which works to wick away moisture to help regulate player s temperature during a match. The shirts also feature laser-cut ventilation holes to promote localized cooling where it matters most, which has been emphasised in some of the cool launch graphics produced.
Inline with Nike s commitment to combining athletic performance with lower environmental impact, each kit is made using an average of 13 recycled plastic bottles. The new kit's shorts are made with 100% Dri-FIT recycled polyester and the shirt with a minimum 96% Dri-FIT recycled polyester. Overall the new kit is 23% lighter and 20% stronger than Nike s previous kits, which has been rolled out across all the new Nike national kits.
