Liverpool Home Replica 2012-13 - Warrior Sports Football Shirt
There's a sense of history repeating at Anfield - the Liver bird is back. It's a return to the '80s for Liverpool with the retro release of Warrior Sports first Premier League strip, who have taken over the design and manufacturing of Liverpool's kits from adidas. How will their debut design be recieved by the Anfield faithful?
The new design brings back memories of the clubs glory days - the Reds won six league titles, two European Cups, two FA Cups and four League Cups in the '80s. Can the new kit help inspire a new era at Liverpool? Let us know what you think!
The all red design is Liverpool s first collaboration with Boston based American sports company Warrior Sports, who broke a British record following their £25m-a-year deal with the Merseyside club. King of the Kop Kenny Dalglish knows what it means to don the iconic Liver bird and will be hoping to mastermind a return to his grander playing days.
The simple design is unapologetically Liverpool, featuring the traditional and unmistakable red and yellow colour scheme of Liverpool's past dominance. The reverse side of the jersey features the eternal Hillsborough flames with the number 96, in reference to the amount of people who lost their lives during the disaster.
Speaking on the new Warrior Liverpool Home Kit, club captain Steven Gerrard said; It s retro, it s comfortable, it s good on the eye and the yellow is back which, of course, is the natural colour of the Liverbird. Team-mate Craig Bellamy said; It reminds me of the Liverpool kits from the '70s and early '80s and I m going to be very fortunate to wear it.
The new Warrior Sports Liverpool Home Kit will be available to order from June 1st. Taking over from adidas is certainly no easy task - have Warrior delivered a design worthy of the Liver bird crest? Share your thoughts and join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
