Everton Home Replica 2012-13 - Nike Football Shirt
Everton have revealed their first home kit in collaboration with Nike. The Toffee s agreed a three-year kit deal with Nike earlier this year, with the Swoosh taking over from Le Coq Sportif. Kicking off Everton's new era with the American sportswear giants, the Merseyside club launch a stylish Royal Blue and White kit for the 2012/13 season.
The classic shirt features broad white cuffs and a white v-neck trim. The new Everton home kit will be worn for the first time on Saturday in The Blues' first pre-season friendly match against Morecambe. What do you think of Nike's opening effort with Everton?
As one of English football's longest standing teams, Nike made the decision to take the reigns as Goodison Park and add The Toffees to their stable of Premier League clubs. As far as kit designs go it's a safe debut design from Nike, using the same v-neck and cuffed template used on such shirts as the Brazil home.
The shirt sponsor remains the same, with Everton's long association with Chang being the longest running sponsorship arrangement in the Barclays Premier League after they started wearing the beer company's logo on their shirts at the start of the 2004/05 season. The deal now has one year remaining.
The new 12/13 Everton home shirt is made from Nike Dri-Fit fabric which is lightweight and manages perspiration, keeping players dry and comfortable for 90 minutes. The shirt is also part of Nike's Considered Design programme aimed at reducing environmental impact, and consists of 100 per cent recycled material.
Following their new partnership with Nike, Everton are continuing to benefit from their consistent levels of performances in the Premier League. City rivals Liverpool are also under new American sponsorship. But with the Warrior Sports brand not holding the same level of prestige as Nike, could this point to a power shift on Merseyside?
