Turning out the lights for another round of stealth style, New Balance release the Limited Edition Liverpool 18/19 Blackout Shirt. As with last year’s all-black offering, this shirt won’t be making an appearance on pitch, remaining as a classy fixture for the fans.
New Balance released a blackout shirt last year as part of the club’s 125th anniversary and this year, well, they’re just doing it again. 'Cos it looks smart, like. The blackout offering takes the 18/19 home shirt and blacks the whole lot out, logos, sponsors and all, and it continues the performance/lifestyle cross-over that New Balance have been exploring more recently.
Liverpool are currently riding high at the top of the Premier League table and they've just qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League, so despite the dark nature of this release, things are actually looking rather rosy for the Reds.
Last year's release was a solid success and New Balance could well make this a consistent fixture in their LFC calendar as a limited edition. Cue the "how is this not the away kit" comments. We can't disagree. Don't expect this shirt to hang around for long; only a limited run have been produced and are already flying.
