Stuttgart & PUMA Launch Special Edition "Original" Jersey

Taking retro to a whole new level for the club’s 125th anniversary, PUMA and Vfb Stuttgart have launched a limited edition shirt, which the team will wear on-pitch in the last home game of 2018.

For more than 90 years, the ‘Brustring’ jersey has been a distinctive feature of Vfb Stuttgart, it’s bold red chest ring becoming synonymous with success for the fans as the club wore it every time they won a competition in the 50s, 80s and 90s.

First worn in August of 1925, the jersey has a white base and stand-out red band around the chest with the club emblem sitting centrally upon it. To celebrate the club’s 125th anniversary PUMA have recreated this jersey as faithfully as possible, utilising all of the features of the original, including the lace-up collar. Not enough lace-up collars around these days.

To mark the release, the current team have recreated the oldest official team photo in which a white VfB jersey with red chest ring is shown, dated 13 September 1925, and copies of both will be included in a special retro box that the shirt will be supplied in.

Stuttgart will wear the special 125th anniversary ‘original’ jersey in their final home game of 2018 when they play against Shalke 04 on 22 December. The Vfb Stuttgart 'Original' Jersey is available in limited quantities here.
