In a move that won’t excite fans all that much but that probably won’t upset either, Toronto FC, known as “The Reds” have released their primary jersey for the 2019 season. And it’s red.

Yep, not a great deal of invention to report on here. It’s supposedly inspired by the city itself – the most diverse city in the world, apparently, and other than the club crest, sponsor and branding details and a touch of grey trim on the sleeves, it’s all red, including the Three Stripes on the shoulders. The main feature is the collar, which returns to the Toronto jersey for the first time since 2013. It’s a simplistic, low-cut affair with only one button. On the rear at the base of the neck, the club motto “All For One” appears. And that’s about it really…

Toronto’s season gets underway on 20 February as they take on Indepdiente in the first leg of their round of 16 CONCACAF Champions League clash. Their domestic season kicks off on 02 March when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Union, a fixture that Toronto won 2-0 last season.
