adidas Unveil Argentina 2019 Copa America Home Shirt

Tradition makes way for an even stronger sense of patriotism in the design for the Argentina 2019 home shirt from adidas, which the national side will wear in this year’s Copa America.

Set to be worn for the first time in the friendly against Venezuela on 22 March and then in the Copa America, the Argentina 2019 home shirt features a design that is far more faithful to the national flag. The layout has only two vertical blue stripes with a white band separating them, which is in keeping with the flag itself, while the sublimated glitch effect of the bands lends the shirt a modern look that’s sure to appeal to fans.

The sky blue is also utilised on the Three Stripes that ride along the shoulders, while navy trim around the neck and cuffs tie in nicely with the numbering and the adidas logo. An embossed seal with the coat of arms of the Republic of Argentina is placed on one of the sleeves.

One of the biggest talking points surrounding the Argentinian national team recently came in the unveiling of the iconic number 10 shirt, signalling the return of their talismanic son, Lionel Messi. After a string of disappointments in the blue and white of the national team, it was unknown if the Barcelona front man would return to the international scene, but the unveiling of the shirt, along with the man himself appearing in photography with the likes of Paulo Dybala, have shown his intention to have one last crack at earning some international silverware.
