Nike Launch PSG 2019/20 Home Shirt

Celebrating 30 years of partnership, the new Paris Saint-Germain 2019/20 home shirt from Nike sees the return of the iconic ‘Hechter' stripe design. The three equal vertical bars – white-red-white – each representing a decade of memories created by PSG while wearing the Swoosh.

Already one of the longest lasting partnerships in sport, Nike and PSG recently announced an extension of their deal, taking it into a fourth and then fifth decade. To celebrate the three successful decades of existing partnership so far, for 2019/20, PSG’s home shirt harks back to the early days of the burgeoning relationship with the club’s famous ‘Hechter' stripe making a welcome return.

I have always been a huge fan of Nike and it’s great news that they will be making PSG kits long into the future,” said man of the summer, Kylian Mbappe. “The new kit is really beautiful, really classic and it’s nice to see the stripe back on the home shirt. I am sure the fans will be really happy with it.

The bold stripe runs from the hem up to the v-neck, while on the reverse of the collar, the word ‘Paris’ subtly emerges from the fabric of a vertical red strip. Inside the shirt there is a further tribute to Nike and PSG’s 30th anniversary in the shape of an ‘inner pride’ feature. The shirt will be joined by blue shorts and blue socks, which feature a swoosh and the word ‘Paris’ midway up the shin.

Given the anniversary, we felt it was only right to bring back the ‘Hechter' stripe and produce a jersey really true to the club’s identity,” said Pete Hoppins, Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director. “This is of course put through Nike’s modern lens, ensuring a really classic yet up to date version of one of European football’s most instantly-recognisable jerseys.
