With replica season in full swing Juventus becomes the next high-profile club to roll out a new jersey as adidas unveil their 2019/20 away shirt. The fresh design takes on an alternative aesthetic with flashes of red and the introduction of an all-over graphic print.

What's that futuristic graphic all about then? Glad you asked. It's inspired by the surroundings of Juventus’ Stadium, more specifically the urban buildings and structures in Turin. Yeah, something do with shapes. It's vague, but it's a good enough excuse to try something different, even if the meaning is somewhat secondary. What it does create is a camouflaged pattern on the white base, and in turn a new style of away tradition for the next generation. We can't always keep looking back for inspiration so fair play to adidas for taking a new direction.

The core-white camouflaged patterns on the body of the jersey is in stark contrast to the hi-res red used on the detailing. This detailing is used across the club crest, adidas and sponsor logos, plus the sleeve cuffs to disrupt the flow of the graphic pattern. And that's that to be honest. Make of it what you will. Juve are likely to have a run out in their new away kit when they take on Atletico Madrid in Sweden on August 10 before the Serie A season kicks off a fortnight later. The away shirt is alternative to the home shirt but not too dissimilar with its white base, meaning we can probably expect something a little more flamboyant for the third kit.
