With festival season continuing to act as a pre-season for football jersey connoisseurs we headed to Glastonbury at the weekend with camera in hand to pick out some of our favourite retro, limited edition and random football shirts on show under the Somerset sun.

The football shirt, both throwback and modern, has become a prominent lifestyle piece in both fashion and streetwear scenes. More than just a symbol of identity, and no longer just a flagpole of ownership on foreign land. Yeah, you'll still see Gary from Derby wearing his Derby County home shirt for seven days straight in Benidorm as a threat to the locals that he'll outdrink them and throw their garden patio furniture at them because no one messes with his Derby, for his Derby are the greatest club in all the land with the most loyal fans; but for others the football jersey is a thoughtful selection, an appreciation of design and lifestyle.

From ironically chosen continental third shirts, to retro typography and classic drawstrings, it's a considered decision and music festivals see the best come out to play.

Wandering round the grounds planning your next move before your thought process is interrupted by slipping into daydreams of Peter Ndlovu running riot at Highfield Road as a retro Coventry City jersey walks past a Sky Blue backdrop. If you're a football fan it's second nature to identity every shirt as quickly as you can, from Yeovil Town, to South Korea, from Fiorentina's Nintendo, to Middlesbrough's BT Cellnet. Football shirts are pretty much our timeline of remembering everything else. Anyway, here's our pick of the bunch...
