Umbro Launch Everton 2019/20 Home Shirt

Arriving under the ‘Built to Last’ theme, which aims to show the journey of both club and brand through their history together, Umbro launch the Everton 2019/20 home shirt. It boasts a new design twist that’s inspired by one of Goodison Park’s most iconic features as well as a subtle nod to designs from the 90s.

Umbro’s design for the Everton 2019/20 home shirt features a Club-inspired chest graphic based around iconic and identifiable elements of Goodison Park – with reference to Archibald Leitch, the renowned architect of the Bullens Road and Gwladys Street stands and the distinctive criss-cross steel that adorns the upper tier of the Bullens Road at the Grand Old Lady.

The modern design is also a break from the traditional solid blue body that’s been seen on recent home shirts, while it also offers an additional retro feel with a nod to the 90s; the back of neck ‘EFC’ sign-off detail having been taken from the 1991/93 home shirt.

The royal blue home shirt will be joined by white shorts and white socks – according to the players, they’re easier to pick out on the pitch than the blue socks that have been used in the past. There you go.

Robin Dunn, Head of Performance at Umbro UK, said: “We knew we wanted to do something different, distinctive and bold with the main body of the jersey for the 2019/20 season, and we really wanted to connect the fans and players through the iconic stadium architecture and the Club’s proud history with Umbro as a brand, two things that really feed well into our ‘Built to Last’ theme for the kit launch.

We hope the new 2019-20 strip will strike a chord with the Goodison faithful and fans further afield to create new and lasting memories both on and off the pitch.
