Using the freedom of design that exists in the realm of third shirts, Umbro release the Schalke 2019/20 third shirt, and it’s arguably the best of the three for the Bundesliga side, with a design that pays tribute to the fans of the club.
Released on ‘Schalke Day’ and under the campaign header 'From Darkness Comes Light', the new Schalke third shirt for the 2019/20 season pays tribute to the people who support S04 week in, week out. The design sees a scattered light graphic on the lower half of the predominantly black shirt, and these ‘lights’ represent the sea of lights in the VELTINS-Arena at night games when the fans sing the ‘Steigerlied’.
The rest of the shirt boasts a very pleasing aesthetic, with the sponsor and branding also appearing in white, while blue shoulder detailing tie it into the club’s home colours. 'Wir leben dich’ (We Live You) is printed on the upper back below the collar for a nice sign off. It’s yet another example of Umbro knocking it out of the park for the 2019/20 season with some of the best bespoke designs around.
