adidas Reveal The Japan 2020 Home Shirt

While most eyes will be on the imminent EURO 2020 kits, adidas have just produced and revealed a stunning design for the Japanese National Team to wear as their home strip for the new year. Inspired by traditional Japanese art, the new home shirt is distinctively modern, and brilliantly Japan.

Breaking from tradition with a patterned shirt incorporating five shades of blue representing different hues of the sky, the shirt take on additional pride going into the new year as it'll be the jersey worn by both the men’s and women’s teams at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Fans won't have to wait until the summer for a first look at it on pitch though, as the women’s team will debut the shirt in a friendly against South Africa at Kitakyushu Stadium on Sunday.

The front of the shirt features that statement multi-hued, camouflage-like pattern, while the back is light blue to provide a canvas for the player names and numbers in red. The shorts remain dark blue and the socks are light blue with 'Japan' in red across the middle. Very BAPE meets F.C. Real Bristol. If that's the standard for the adidas EURO 2020 designs then we're in for a real treat. More bespoke kit please. We're all over this one.
