Arriving with typical South American flair, Nike launch the new 2020 home and away shirts for Argentine outfit Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro, with the team set to wear the home shirt on Saturday when they face Estudiantes.
Unlike on European shores where new shirts are launched ahead of a new season, there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of logic surrounding new shirt releases in South America, with Nike launching the new San Lorenzo home and away shirts ahead of the club’s match day 17 fixture against Estudiantes. That’s match day 17 of 23, with the domestic league set to wrap up on 8 March. Still, we’re not complaining, as in the absence of any new releases on this side of the pond due to the very fact that we’re halfway through the season, Nike deliver a duo of delights.
Bringing some Barcelona vibes to the Superliga in Argentina, the new San Lorenzo home shirt features a classic design that sees royal blue and light crimson stripes arranged vertically in varying degrees of thickness, while the raglan sleeves are solid blue.
The away shirt starts with a white base and places the royal blue and crimson stripes horizontally on the lower section, in a gradient graphic that’s fitting of their ‘El Ciclon’ nickname, and it’s finished by royal blue on the cuffs and collar. Two strong new looks for the team as they continue to push for a top four finish.
The San Lorenzo 2020 home and away shirts will be available at Nike.com from 3 February.
