Fortuna Dusseldorf Unveil 125 Year Anniversary Shirt

Celebrating 125 years since the formation of the club in a way that has become somewhat customary for clubs over the last few years, Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf have unveiled a special retro-infused anniversary shirt.

The Fortuna Dusseldorf 125 year anniversary shirt has been produced by regular kit makers Uhlsport. But along with the Henkel sponsor, they take a back seat to the design, which adopts a vintage vibe. Both sponsor and branding appear in all white, directing focus to the specially-created crest.

That crest is a modernised version of one of the first Fortuna logos: a gymnast's cross with the four F’s – “frisch, fromm, fröhlich, frei”, which translates to "fresh, pious, happy, free”. Admittedly, something might have been a little lost in translation there, but you get the idea. The crest is rounded off with "Fortuna 1895" lettering, while at the bottom right of the jersey there is a badge with the years "1895" and "2020" as well as the F95 logo. “F95” is embroidered on the back of the neck, again in white, while the back also features a stylised gymnast's cross, which consists of small air holes in the mesh fabric.

A limited-edition release, the Uhlsport Düsseldorf 2020 anniversary-edition jersey is presented in a special presentation box. The shirt will be worn in a future Bundesliga game, once a degree of normality resumes.

The Fortuna Dusseldorf 125 Year Anniversary shirt is available exclusively through the club's online store.
