Umbro Launch Fluminense 20/21 Home & Away Shirts

Kicking off a new partnership, Umbro have launched the new Fluminense home and away shirts for 20/21, with a design that pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the club's first national title in 1970.

Umbro’s partnership with Fuminense officially begins, after the Double Diamond took the reigns from Under Armour, and the first shirts from the pair have been unveiled ahead of the 2020 season. For the tricolor fans, they come with a nice nod to the club’s first Brazilian title from back in 1970, in the form of a special commemorative seal that celebrates the 50-year anniversary.

The home shirt, in the traditional garnet, green and white colours, brings the classic stripes with sublimated graphics running through that lend a depth to the design. The collar is differentiated, with contrasting detail, and the sleeves are in jacquard fabric, with a cuff with contrasting detail, in addition to a side cutout that facilitates the trim of the piece.

The away shirt arrives in white, with details in garnet and green, with sublimated contrasting stripes. Both shirts feature the club crest thermo-applied for comfort and to lend it more prominence in the overall design.

To further celebrate this partnership and the first Brazilian title, Fluminense and Umbro developed two commemorative stamps, which will appear on the base of the neck and on the hem of the shirt. The first brings the stylised Double Diamond next to the mould of the Flu's shield, with reference to the year the club was founded and its origin. The second refers to the 50th anniversary of the title, with emphasis on the trophy and the fact of being four-time Brazilian champions.

Due to the current pandemic, Fluminense had to think outside the box for the kit launch, unveiling it to fans in a live broadcast on FluTV (ironically named, given the circumstances) with rapper Xamã, passionate fan of the Laranjeiras club, on presenting duties.

The Fluminense 20/21 home and away shirts are available through the club's online store.
