With a design that nods to the club’s glorious past, Umbro launch the West Ham commemorative 125 year anniversary home kit, which the Hammers will wear in the 20/21 season.
Featuring a design that’s inspired by the club’s greatest period, which saw the foundation of the world-famous Academy of Football, FA Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup triumphs and three Hammers lead England to FIFA World Cup glory, the West Ham 125th Anniversary 20/21 home kit is a modern classic that nods to the Hammers’ glorious past.
The Home shirt features a traditional Claret body and Vista Blue sleeves, complete with Vista Blue collar and Claret tipping to the cuffs, a stylised rib neckline and the 125th anniversary two-colour crest. And it’s that crest that draw a lot of the attention. Stripped back, it boasts the year of the club’s inception – 1895 – faced off with 2020, operated by the ‘125 years’ callout. The crossed Hammers appear on the rear of the neck, with ‘125’ below, acting as a nice sign off.
Club captain and lifelong Hammer Mark Noble is a big fan of the new kit, saying: “As a boy, my Dad would tell me all about Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters, about the Academy of Football and how we were one of the most entertaining teams in the world. This kit instantly reminds me of those the legends wore when they won the FA Cup and the European Cup Winners’ Cup.
“While we all want to experience more success in the future, West Ham United is a club that will always remember its past and pay respects to its heritage, and this kit does that perfectly.”
The West Ham 20/21 Home Shirt is available to preorder now at the club's online store.
