In case you were unaware, prematch is where it’s currently at. Case in point: the new Arsenal 20/21 jersey and anthem jacket from adidas. The former boasts a disruptive hand-painted design on the front, while the latter comes in a strong all-red look, both of which will make their debut tonight ahead of the Gunners’ game against Leicester.
While we await an official look at what adidas have in store for the Arsenal kits for next season, we once again have to content ourselves with an accompaniment. But when it’s this good, we’re happy to wait. The Arsenal 20/21 pre-match shirt and anthem jacket follow the Gunners’ new training collection for the coming season, which dropped recently, but they offer quite an alternative approach that’s more in keeping with the club’s traditional home colours.
The pre-match shirt comes in either a long or short raglan sleeve design, with the word “Arsenal” repeating on banding that runs down their length. The body of the shirt sees a predominantly maroon base with the brush graphic appearing in black, while the club badge, sponsor and branding all appear in white.
The Anthem jacket is a far simpler affair as far as the aesthetics go, but no less appealing for it. he A deep red envelopes the whole design, tonal club crest and Three Stripes included. Both the jacket and the prematch shirt are set to make their bow ahead of tonight’s fixture against Leicester City.
