After drawing their rather disappointing 19/20 campaign to a close with a 2-2 draw with Antalyaspor, Galatasaray turn their attention to the future by unveiling their home and away shirts from Nike for the 20/21 season.
Providing a contemporary twist on the club’s classic design, the Galatasaray 20/21 home shirt takes the usual 50-50 split of of the club’s colours and updated it with a blurred effect between the two that runs right down the centre of the shirt. The segmented line where yellow and red meet represents the flame of Galatasaray fans meeting with the team, and the new design aims to reflect the passion and fire of the fans.
It’s an impressive way for Nike to put a new spin on the home colours of one of its European heavyweights, and the club will hope to live up to the design as they look to regain their status in the game.
The away shirt then draws inspiration from the torches and flares that the fans burn in the dark on match days, with the black base being accentuated by the red graphic that travels up from the hem. For the first time, the Galatasaray logo presented in black in keeping with the rest of the shirts design.
