Inspired by the city’s Fountain of Neptune, one of the most iconic monuments in the city centre where Atleti fans gather to celebrate the team’s victories, Nike launch the Atletico Madrid 20/21 away shirt.
Arriving in blue with bright red detailing, the Atletico Madrid 20/21 away shirt joins up with the recently released home shirt to complete a one-two power punch from Nike. The bright, colourful details include gradient striping — unique to Atlético's new away shirt — which is used to illuminate the collar and sides.
The front of Atlético's blue away is lit up by a red Nike Swoosh, club crest and sponsor’s logo. The gradient striping surrounds the crew-neck collar and runs down the sides of the torso. Inside the shirt, an inner-pride feature depicts a trident in a further reference to Neptune and to Atleti’s strong bond with the statue.
“This kit is really striking,” said midfielder Marcos Llorente. “The blue really grabs your attention and the red also jumps out. I like the subtle stripes and I think it will be very popular with the players and the supporters.”
