Borussia Dortmund Unveil Two PUMA Cup Kits For 20/21

Not content with the traditional home, away and third shirts, Borussia Dortmund have unveiled two special cup kits from PUMA, to be used in domestic and European cup competitions.

Borussia Dortmund have already unveiled their striking home shirt design for the 20/21 season, but now they’ve unveiled a second home option, this one reserved specifically for cup competitions. Inspired by local architecture, the shirt comes in the club’s classic yellow and black colourings and it features a cubic graphic based on the Dortmund U-Tower’s iconic roof structure.

Along with its unique design Dortmund’s cup shirts also feature the club’s alternate sponsors, Evonik along with an entirely different single button collar design, edged in black trim. The cup shirts are set to be worn exclusively in DFB Pokal and Champions League matches.

And it doesn’t stop with the home cup kit, as that design is joined by an alternate away strip, which sees the same design presented in a white base with the cube graphic in yellow and grey, while the alternate Evonik sponsor pops in pink. How often we’ll see this kit in action remains to be seen however, as there aren’t many other teams that play in yellow as their home kit. Villarreal away in the Europa League if Dortmund crash out of the Champions League? Unlikely…
