With a design reminiscent of the fan favourite 2012/13 away strip that marked the club’s return to the Primera División, adidas launch the 2020/21 River Plate away shirt. It features the famous red sash on a red background.
The River Plate home shirt is an instantly recognisable part of the club’s identity, with that famous red sash spread across the white background. And that sash has been carried across to the new third shirt for the 20/21 season. Red on red sounds like an odd choice, but the use of a different tone on the sash allows it to take on the central role, rightly maintaining its place as the focal point for the design.
The sash continues over the shoulder and down the back, while white details in the Three Stripe branding on the shoulders, sponsor, club crest and sleeve cuffs give the design a tidy finish. The shirt will be joined by contrasting white shorts, inverting the colour with red Three Stripes on the sides.
