A historic French football club, Stade Rennais F.C. is celebrating its 120th anniversary today, 10 March, and to help them celebrate in sleek style, PUMA have provided them with a limited edition shirt, complete with redesigned club crest, which the club will wear in tonight’s game against Marseille.
It’s not everyday you turn 120, and so Stade Rennais – or Rennes if you prefer – who were founded in March 1901 by one of the founding members of the first division of French football and a group of former students living in Brittany, are pulling out all the stops to celebrate. And they’re being kindly aided by technical partners PUMA, who have produced a sleek special edition shirt for the club, paying tribute to 120 years of history.
The shirt features an all-black base with a vertical red stripe, reminiscent of the club's centennial jersey, as well as an SRFC anniversary crest and a gold-coloured PUMA logo. Rounding off the design, the back of the shirt sees the text 1901-2021 embroidered onto the collar, while founding members and early players Duchesne, Jamin, Peter, and Ghis are honored by having their names printed on the upper back just below it.
The Stade Rennais 120 year anniversary shirt will be worn by the players tonight when they meet Olympique de Marseille.
