New Balance Launch Limited Edition Costa Rica Centennial Jersey

In celebration of the first 100 years of federated soccer in the country, New Balance launch a limited edition Centennial jersey for Costa Rica National Teams.

13 June 2021 was the date that the Costa Rican Football Federation first came to be, and to commemorate its 100th anniversary New Balance has launched a special centenary jersey, which was which debuted in the match between the Costa Rican and Guatemalan women's teams at the National Stadium. The shirt is blue, the same colour used by the first national representation that was formed to play a Central American tournament in Guatemala, in 1921.

Like other New Balance uniforms for Costa Rica (motivated by the country's renowned biodiversity), the Centenario jersey is partially made with recycled materials. Its fabric is made with NB Dry technology, which offers quick drying and guarantees optimal performance for players on the field. With elegant elements, it also presents a shield that evokes important dates in its history.

Rodolfo Villalobos, President of the Costa Rica Football Federation, assured that this clothing is an essential component in the celebrations for the hundred years. "We are very pleased to present the official Centennial jersey, which combines valuable elements such as the historical richness of our football and our attachment to the conservation of nature, a value that is rooted in the Costa Rican people and our organisation."

The Men's National Team will also use this design as an alternative uniform during the next Gold Cup, which will be held in the United States in July.
