Club America and Nike serve up more heat for the 2021/22 Liga MX season with the launch of Las Águilas new home strip. The jersey sees the same striking Aztec pattern as the away jersey, repositioned to the top quadrant of the shirt and styled in the Mexican club's home colours.
Mexico City is a city that evokes different feelings, always challenging, always imposing. And it’s home to Club América, and all of the extravagance and exuberance that comes along with what is one of the biggest club’s in Mexico. Nike match that level of bravado yet again, complementing the club’s identity with the new home shirt for the 21/22 season.
Following the 21/22 away shirt’s inspiration, the new Club América 2021/22 home jersey is inspired by Aztec patterns that change colour in a gradient of warm tones, inspired by the imposing sunrises of the city that can be seen in their splendour from the Azteca Stadium. The graphic print itself pays homage to the Guerrero Aguila — a special class of infantry soldier in the Aztec army. It also joins the prematch shirt, adding to the wild nature of the club's wardrobe.
This year, for the first time in the Club's history, the women's team will debut the new uniform on 18 July at the Azteca Stadium, where they will play the entire new 2021/22 season.
