Torquay United have been quietly going about releasing some of the cleanest kits around in recent seasons, with the traditional sponsor being replaced by the year of their inception for a stylish finish the few can match. And they’re carrying on in that groove in the coming season with their new home and away shirts, putting the agonising loss to Hartlepool behind them and focusing once more on a promotion push that will see them return to the English Football League.
Gary Johnson’s side will continue to take the field in kits produced by sportswear giants Nike, in collaboration with their official kit partners, Pro:Direct Soccer. The new home shirt offers a classy revamp of United’s famous yellow and blue combination, whilst the away kit in “Hyper Turquoise” offers both players and supporters a fresh and stylish alternative. Both shirts again celebrate the individual heritage of Torquay United, and on closer inspection the pinstripe design is actually the 1899 numerals running down from the centre of the shirt, resulting in another unique touch that pays homage to the year of the club’s foundation.
