Umbro Launch West Ham 21/22 Home Shirt

Inspired by the iconic shirt worn by Paolo Di Canio when he scored one of the club’s greatest ever goals at the turn of the Millennium, Umbro launch the West Ham 21/22 home shirt, which the team will wear in their first-ever UEFA Europa League group campaign.

Taking things back 20 years or so, Umbro delve into the West Ham archives for inspiration for the club’s 21/22 home shirt, picking out the shirt worn by Di Canio and co. The shirt design evokes memories of the Italian’s unforgettable volley against Wimbledon in March 2000 – a goal voted the best ever scored at the Boleyn Ground – as well as that famous European away day in Metz when Trevor Sinclair, Frank Lampard and Paulo Wanchope all found the back of the net to seal the club’s UEFA Intertoto Cup success in August 1999.

The shirt design sees the the iconic Claret and Blue presented in a classic style, with the claret colouring on the body and the blue spreading across the shoulders. Those classic colours are joined and separated by white accents that run through the sleeves, cuffs and that retro-styled collar for a look that will be worthy of the club's return to European competition. The shirt will be joined by white shorts and claret and blue socks.
