More sauce coming from South Africa, with PUMA unveiling the new Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. home and away kits for the 21/22 season. They arrive in the club’s traditional colours of yellow, green and blue, with each shirt featuring a unique traditional hand-printed treatment inspired by African art and fashion.
South Africa is something of a wild arena for shirt design, with the vibrancy of he culture spilling onto the shirt designs. We’ve seen Nike producing some standout kits for Kaizer Chiefs over the years, and adidas doing likewise for Orlando Pirates, and PUMA continue to drop the drip for reigning DStv Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, unveiling the club's new home and away shirts. The Sundowns continue to dominate South African football with 11 Premier Soccer League (PSL) titles to their name including the last four in a row, as well as the prestigious CAF Champions League.

Beautifully bespoke, the kit design is carried across both the home and away shirts, with the home adopting the traditional yellow and green colourings which, when paired with the blue shorts, combine for a a definite Brazilian vibe. Let’s face it, there’s worse teams to emulate, and the club’s success more than matches that of the Seleção. On the away shirt, that bold graphic stands out all the more, executed in the two-tone blues. The Mamelodi Sundowns crest appears on the left chest of both the home and away shirts with the PUMA logo on the right as well as on the sleeves.
