Better late than never, Umbro and Burnley unveil the club’s away shirt for the 21/22 season, which they will wear this Sunday when they travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool. The shirt is the last to arrive and completes the Premier League home and away lineup for every team.
With their first away fixture being the early kick off on Saturday, Burnley have left it mighty late to lift the veil on what they’ll be wearing. But thankfully for Clarets fans it’s been worth the wait, with Umbro providing a smooth pinstripe design that offers up a nice alternative to the classic home look, while still using the traditional colours of the club.
Burnley are one of three teams in the Premier League to call Claret and Blue their traditional home colours, and while there is still wiggle room in that combo to pull of something special, it’s the away shirts that provide a truly alternate look to their counterparts. For the Clarets, that’s a design that sees sky blue pinstripes to the front of the body, and that ties in with the use of the same colour on the cuffs, with claret riding above. A stylised V neckline boasts a claret insert for a nice continuation, and the colouring of the club’s nickname continues on the branding and sponsor for a clean combination.
The Burnley 21/22 away shirt will be on sale in-store and online from Saturday 28 August.
